The SmartMarket concept organically grew from many years of working for private companies as marketing professionals,
and being solicited by friends and acquaintances who knew we "did marketing" by day, and wanted what in effect was
occasional freelance marketing support. Inspired by the need, excited by the challenge, and curious as to what was really
out there, we looked to traditional established advertising/marketing firms for some sage wisdom. Instead of the secret to
the marketing universe, we kept getting hung up on the fact that 99% of small businesses simply could not afford the
typical agency arrangement.

Simply put, ad agencies (even the small, local ones) were not particularly interested in helping a small business with a
single ad, a seasonal direct mail campaign, or a press release. This is where SmartMarket fills the void traditional firms
leave, applying common sense to a working business arrangement. Our offer? Retainer plans that can be changed at any
time, for any reason, and are as scalable as you need them to be. Taking it a step further, SmartMarket's a la carte
marketing services meet an even more critical need for small businesses who just need that extra help now and again, and
are not quite ready to enter into a more consistent retainer scenario.
